School Shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School.
The shooter is a 14 year old. He ended up fatally shooting himself.
Some would consider this an act of terrorism.
Some say there have been too many school shootings.
Some say someone should have noticed the signs.
The stories can be researched and read on line.
The point of this blog - you just never know what is going to happen when or where.
We need to start paying attention to the things happening around us.
We need to put down the electronic devices and start paying attention to people again. Talk to people. Find out what is going on in their lives.
If you know someone is hurting, see what you can do to help.
Talk to someone about it. In a school situation, you could talk to a teacher or counselor.
Nothing can prepare us for this type of event.
In this case, the townsfolk are pulling together to get through the immediate emotional times.
Will they ever get over it? No - Never. This will haunt many for years to come.
So talk with your families. Get and keep connected with each other.
If you feel there is a problem with someone - acting differently, saying or texting anything disturbing - seek professional advice. You may need to report something unusual to Law Enforcement.
Whatever you have to do to keep this type of event from happening, do it.
In the mean time, pay attention to your surroundings, show more kindness and respect to each other, be more helpful in your daily lives, and give lots of hugs.
